How to prepare a good research bid for Arts, Social Sciences & Law

2015/02/26 @ 10:00 - 16:30

Organised by Staff Development

An introduction to writing a data management plan will be given as part of a one day course in writing a successful research grant application. Our presentation is from 11.50 am – 12.20 pm.

What makes a good research bid? In addition to the perspective of the academic, you will be invited to consider from the perspective of the funder and peer reviewer. Important elements of bid preparation and most common reasons for failure will be explored with advice and tips being provided throughout the day on best practice. The workshop will be interactive in nature and you will be encouraged to share experiences and partake in group exercises.

This workshop is aimed at those who already have some experience of applying for or have been involved in an application for funding.

The trainer, Dr Pamela Johnstone, was originally a researcher herself before managing multi-million research portfolios for large research funders.
